#XrisStories 21 - Loving What You Left Without Wanting to Go Back ❤️

507

You can love what you've left without wanting to go back.

After two weeks in Europe, I came back to Mauritius on Thursday morning.

Geneva, Gstaad, Paris, London.

Meetings, friends, familiar places.

In London, I even walked past our old house.

Fifteen years of life in that city.

Memories everywhere. Habits. Friendships. A large part of our family story.

I was happy to see it all again.

But what surprised me is what I didn't feel.

No nostalgia.

Not that little urge to go back.

And when the plane landed in Mauritius, I was simply happy to be home.

To see Sophie and Lucy again.

Our new everyday life.

That different pace I'm starting to grow fond of.

I think we often picture big changes as choices between what we keep and what we give up.

When we can also move forward without erasing anything.

Loving deeply what we've lived.

Being grateful for the years gone by.

And looking forward just as much to the ones ahead.

In the end, turning a page doesn't mean you would have preferred a different story.

Simply that you're ready to write what comes next. ❤️
