👍🏻 Turns out some of the best value creation doesn’t happen in spreadsheets, but around a fondue pot next to Churchill with a cigar in hand. No pitches, no pressure just entrepreneurs and investors dropping the armor, sharing stories, and letting trust do the work. Sometimes the cosiest tables are the most efficient deal rooms. 🫕

👎🏻 When LMB Aerospace, a supplier embedded in core French defense programs, can be sold abroad despite expert warnings, sovereignty becomes a slogan, not a strategy. Golden shares may soothe consciences, but they don’t replace real control. The deeper loss here isn’t ownership … it’s credibility in how seriously we protect what we call “strategic.” 🙄

✍🏻 This week was a reminder that real sovereignty doesn’t shout … it engineers. Visiting Nexson-Group felt like stepping into an industrial matryoshka: they design the products, build the robots that make them, and even run their own OS, ERP and CRM. Heat exchangers are the output … autonomy is the strategy. Mind-blowing, and quietly powerful. Huge thanks to Charles and Baptiste for the visit and the short but inspiring deep dive 👏
