👎🏼 Our planet is ablaze, a fiery testament to the escalating climate crisis. Canada, once a land of pristine forests, is now grappling with its third-largest wildfire event of the 21st century. These infernos, fueled by climate change-induced drought and extreme heat, are ravaging landscapes, displacing communities, and choking cities with hazardous smoke.

✍🏻 Nicolas Appert, a visionary French confectioner and inventor, revolutionized food preservation in the early 19th century with his groundbreaking invention: the airtight tin can. Driven by a desire to extend the shelf life of perishable foods, Appert experimented with various methods, ultimately discovering that heating food in sealed glass jars could prevent spoilage. This innovative technique, later refined and commercialized, laid the foundation for the modern canning industry.
